Chairman
John is a Divisional Director of Promar International – the agri food value chain consulting subsidiary of Genus plc. He graduated from the University College of Swansea in 1981 with a BSc Econ degree.
John has now worked extensively throughout the UK and on assignments in some 60 other countries, including all other Continental EU markets, Russia, the FSU and Eastern Europe, Brazil, China, India, Myanmar, New Zealand, Australia, the Middle East, Chile, the Caribbean, East and South Africa, Mexico, the US and Canada.
He has worked on a wide range of agricultural, horticultural, food and drink products, including work in the fruit, vegetables, dairy, beef, pork, fish, cereals, soybean, rice and the processed foods and drink sectors – as well as other work on snack foods, biscuits, honey, fruit juices, confectionery, cheese, ethnic foods, canned foods, convenience foods, sandwiches etc.
John is the Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Food, Drink and Agriculture Group. He is also the newly appointed Chair of the Institute of Agricultural Management. He has recently been made a Fellow of the Royal Agricultural Society of England. He was also until December 2014 for 3 years a Director of the Oxford Farming Conference. He has just been made a Visiting Fellow at the University of Reading.
