A cross section of his current clients includes the likes of Defra, the Environment Agency, Natural England, a leading Belgian meat processing business, our own parent company, Genus plc and a number of the main water companies around the UK. He joined Promar International from the leading environmental consulting firm, Ecorys, and has since worked on a wide range of assignments across the agricultural and food sector and this in particular includes the dairy sector, the poultry, beef, pork and lamb and the horticultural sectors.
He is an MA graduate in Sustainable Development (including agriculture and food) and a BSc (Hons) graduate in Environmental Protection and Sustainability (covering energy, carbon, life cycle assessment etc) and as an environmental management specialist, he has a foundation level IEMA accreditation and well developed analytical and project management skills. Tom now has over 12 years experience of advising businesses, public sector organisations and communities. This has involved providing advice to businesses, and mapping supply chains including farm and food processing businesses on the issue of waste in the supply chain, the use of renewable energy, resource efficiency and climate change mitigation/adaptation.
He is also leading the development of a suite of bespoke carbon footprint tools in conjunction with the Carbon Trust and in co operation with a Knowledge Transfer Programme being carried out with the University of Reading. A good deal of his work involves carrying a combination of research and consulting projects using a range of techniques covering literature assessments, baseline development, qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
